I had never heard of Duchess and Hare sewing patterns before this blog tour. Why?? Why had no one told me about these amazing little girls patterns before? I love vintage. Vintage furniture, vintage mirrors, vintage style and of course vintage little girls dresses!! It is such a pleasure to be a part of this blog tour. (Please stay tuned there is a GIVEWAY at the the end of this post.)
For the Duchess and Hare Blog Tour I made the Love Potion #9 dress. You are able to choose from several options with this sewing pattern, dress, romper, dress with shorts underneath, v neck, sweetheart neck, straight neckline. Wow! Just look at all these options.
I went with the dress with the sweetheart neckline. You can also add wings!! I already have my next Love Potion #9 dress planned it will have wings! Also I plan to add the reversible sequins (remember my reversible sequin dress). It is going to be so cute! Be on the lookout for it next month on my blog. The instructions for this dress were super easy to follow. I stayed up late one night working on this dress. With two toddlers, it is sometimes hard to find time to sew, so I end up sewing a lot of late nights or early mornings. Even in my sleepiness, I not once got lost in the instructions.
The Love Potion #9 dress has an elastic back, which helps the flexibility in sizing and dressing your child. There are instructions to make your our own straps or you can use premade bias tape. I made my own, which I do not always do, but I knew it would be had to find a match to this gorgeous blue and purple ombre satin fabric I bought from Joanns. I bought it as a remnant and it worked perfectly. I love buying remnants for my little girl, they usually work perfect for a quick top, skirt or even a dress depending on the size of the remnant. I also love ombre fabrics! I have a few I have been hoarding for awhile and need to cut into them. Anyone else in love with ombre, as much as me?
This dress fit her perfectly. She often cries when I put a dress on her, but today she loved it. I hope this means she will want even more dresses in the future. I really hope so, as I love making dresses for her. Her Grandparents were over for a visit the night I snapped these pictures and she really wanted to show her Nana her bubble machine we bought her for her birthday. Do you ever get tired of standing there blowing bubbles with those little wands and only getting a few bubbles at a time? Then I highly highly recommend a bubble machine! We love ours!
Just look at that smile!! A pretty dress and lots of bubbles is one of the best combos! I tried to get more pictures with her looking at me, however most of pictures are of the back of the dress, LOL, but the back of the Love Potion #9 dress is super cute, especially with bubbles!
I did happen to catch her looking at me with the bubbles, but she is starting to look like a big girl these days and not my little baby. Why is she growing up so fast?
I absolutely loved the Love Potion #9 dress pattern from Duchess and Hare. It has an amazing vintage style, the instructions were very easy to follow and it went together quickly. I made it in one evening. I am actually almost done with one in yellow gingham as well, then plan to start the Love Potion #9 in reversible sequins. Thank you Duchess and Hare for letting me be a part of this blog tour. Please check out the other wonderful ladies in this blog tour and enter the giveaway below!

This is so cute, and those bubbles!! I might need to get a machine too! Also I didn’t realize JoAnn carried ombre. I’ll have to take a look next time I’m in there.
I have several ombre fabrics from Joanns. I have three different colors of ombre chiffon, that I have not been able bring myself to cut into yet. I just saw online they have a purple ombre chiffon too, so I may have to buy some of it too. I think I might have a problem. LOL. OH and the bubble machine! Totally worth it! Both my kids love it.
So sweet! I love the pictures with the bubbles, looks fun!!
A great dress. Pretty pictures and beautifull girl!
Too cute and a cutie as a model!
Thank you so much!
The ombre fabric is gorgeous in this cute little dress!
Thank you so much! I have some pink ombre as well that might find its way into this dress as well 🙂
