The Everyday Tee Sewing Pattern by Ellie and Mac just released today!! If you saw my post yesterday of the Claire Cardigan, you may have been wondering what I was wearing underneath the gorgeous cardigan! Well, here it is, your next must have purchase! You can choose between a fitted and a loose fit option with the Everyday Tee. As my followers know, I have a Mom bod. That pesky tummy just does not want to go anywhere, therefore I, of course, chose the loose fit version. It features a hi-low curved hemline and I love that it covers the derriere! Bring on leggings season!
SIZING
I measured at the very top of the small size and at the very bottom of the medium size. I measured at at XL in waist measurements. Since I chose the loose fit top, I decided to try to the medium size without grading. I wanted to verify the tee was really a loose fit. To my satisfaction, it is! It fit really well and it covers my Mom bod.
I am only 5’0″ and I usually shorten all my patterns, however I wanted to wear the Everyday Tee Sewing Pattern with leggings, so I did not shorten the length at all. The Everyday Tee not only covered my front is also has great coverage across my derriere.
The length is long enough for taller people as well. It goes well below my fingertip length. I also love the extra special detail on the back of the Everyday Tee. The back bodice is actually sewn in two pieces, which I think it gives the back an extra bit of style and class.
THE FABRIC
My first tester version of the Everyday Tee Sewing Pattern I made with a purple sweater knit; I like to buy my sweater knit from Sincerely Rylee. I will finish the hems and take some pictures. According to InStyle Magazine, colored velvet is one of the most luxurious trends for 2017 and since I bought this stretch velvet last year, I decided to jump on board with this trend. I tend to lean towards fancy and fun fabrics. I will let you in on a little secret. This luxurious trend, does not come with a expensive price point! You can purchase stretch velour from fabric.com for less than $5 a yard!! Yes, I am serious. Go buy it now here! A few people have asked about my leggings. I used the free Peg Leg Pattern by Patterns for Pirates and I used black foil spandex fabric that can be found on Etsy here.
BUY IT NOW!
This is actually the first time I have ever made anything from Ellie and Mac and I honestly love it. I usually store my patterns away quickly after testing, however this one is still left out, as I plan to make several more of them SOON! I plan making a more casual version next time. You can purchase your Ellie and Mac Everyday Tee here and the stretch velvet here! Let me know in the comments, what fabric you plan on using for your Everyday Tee.

Super cute! Love all the information you give! 💕
Thanks so much Tricia!
Your everyday tee is so cute! I searched the listing description of the tee and read your blog and looked at all the pictures on both sites (on my 6 Plus) but I can not figure out what kind of sleeve this tee has. Is it a dolman or set in sleeve? TIA
Hi Rae! It is a dolman sleeve 🙂
And thanks so much!
This is one of my favorite tops!! So comfortable! I love your fabric choice. Looks awesome on you.
