The new Sunshine Romper from Ellie and Mac has released and we are jumping for joy!! You can find it on sale here! (Sale price will automatically show in your cart when added.) Baby Girl is a little picky with her clothes and I was not sure how she will handle this romper. I made it pink just in case. I used Valentine’s Day fabric from Little Lady Bug. It is so cute with hearts, giraffes and snails! Yes snails! I so love snails. She was a little leery before putting on the Sunshine Romper, however afterwards she loved it. She actually asked to take it off to eat, because she did not want to get it messy.
First of all, there were only two things Baby Girl asked Santa for Christmas and one of them was this super cute pink kids couch! She saw this pink Melissa and Doug sofa and wanted it so bad. Luckily, Santa came through and brought me this cute photo prop, I mean, Baby Girl this present. She loves it and at 2 and 1/2 it is a perfect size for her! Her birthday is in a few months, maybe she needs the matching pink Melissa and Doug chair too?
Okay, now back to the Sunshine Romper! The Sunshine Romper has a one shoulder bodice. There is also the option of adding a strap to the other side. I really liked the version without the strap. It gives her more of a stylish, yet simple look. Two waistband options are also available.
You can choose between a straight waistband and a gathered waistband. I chose the gathered waistband. You attach the waistband to the bodice and gather the shorts to size of the waistband. There is also elastic in the waistband for added structure. The hem of the legs also uses elastic.
Elastic helps give the leg hems a more gathered look, which gives the shorts of the Sunshine Romper a bubble look. I love bubble shorts and these do not disappoint.
Are these bubble shorts adorable or what? They were were a perfect fit as well! The arm band and neck band were super easy to put on by quartering the sections.
There is also the option of topstitching the arm band and neck band, however I skipped this step. I thought they both laid flat well without the topstitching.
Baby Girl is now trying to pose for pictures. Above is her version of posing and smiling. LOL! She cracks me up. It should be interesting to see her progression in her poses. Last night I took some pictures of her in a new Sweetie Tunic by Ellie and Mac and she told her brother, “Get off my bed, I am taking pictures!!” Oh my, I might have created a monster. Please feel free to also check out my review of the Sweetie Dress.
I added an Elle est Forte proverb quote with my new Silhouette Cameo, Santa brought me for Christmas. Be on the look out for more blog posts on vinyl coming soon!
Overall, we are very excited for the new Sunshine Romper and I believe it will be a staple in Baby Girl’s closet this summer! (Just like the Sweetie Dress is a staple in her closet this winter.) It was a much easier sew than I originally thought it would be. I made mine fairly quickly.
