I made the Be Dreamy dress and it sure is dreamy! You can find the girls maxi dress sewing pattern here. Baby Girl is only starting to wear more dresses and even before she put on this dress, she asked me to make her more of them!
What do you think? Do you love the Be Dreamy Dress as much as we do? The Be Dreamy dress reminds me of the maxi dresses I wore as a child. I was the girl that would play baseball in my backyard with the neighborhood boys, while I was wearing a long maxi dress. It makes my heart happy to see Baby Girl loving the same style dress.
Just look at Baby Girl’s smile in the Be Dreamy dress! The girls maxi dress sewing pattern is super easy fast sew. The sewing pattern also includes a high low option I plan on trying next. There are also two options of flounce sleeves; I just chose the large size. The Be Dreamy dress can be used with multiple types of knit. I used a peach and blue floral double brushed polyester from So Sew English. The bigger the flounce, the better for me. I have been waiting for just the right sewing pattern to use this fabric, so when I saw the Be Dreamy dress, I knew it would be perfect! Since it is freezing cold outside, we had to bring the Spring inside.
Nothing says Spring like a couple of cherry blossom trees, right? Just like our painted fireplace, the thrift store sofa table and the wooden boxes that now hold my vinyl, I painted her dresser, mirror and picture frames with Miss Mustard Seed milk paint. I used the paint colors Schloss and Arabesque. Pink and gray are two of my favorite colors, besides green. I purchased her the Eiffel Tower lamp on ebay. When I was binge watching Gilmore Girls, a couple years ago, I noticed Rory had the same one in her room too! I love small details and accessories.
So, before I began sewing the Be Dreamy dress I debated adding some lace or trim to the bottom of the bodice. So I rummaged through my stash. That is when I found this sash I had made over a year ago. I had glued some peach flowers onto some ivory stretch lace. I remember when I bought the flowers from my supplier, she asked how I planned to use them. There was no plan for the peachy floral sash, it has just been waiting for me to make it a coordinating outfit. Peach is such a lovely colro; I feel it is very underrated color. I wish I could find more of it. The peach floral sash and the peach Be Dreamy girls maxi dress were an amazing match!
I think the sash makes the Be Dreamy dress look more dressed up. I want this maxi dress in my size too! (Are you listening Ellie and Mac? We need a women’s version now too PLEASE.) 🙂 Overall, the Be Dreamy dress is definitely a new favorite!! I cannot wait to make her next one! I have already started planning! The Be Dreamy dress is also my “newest pattern” for this week’s 52 week sewing challenge!

This is gorgeous!! I love the fabric and pattern together!! I think making maxi dresses for little ones is so special, it makes them feel more grown up. The pattern looks so fun!!
Thank you!! I was not sure if she would like a long dress or not. I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot wait to make more!
The Be Dreamy Dress I made for my daughter is what hooked me on Ellie and Mac! I made the high low version and it’s my favorite sew still!
I would actually love to make this as a nightgown for my girl….she wears twirly dresses almost every day, but rwfuses to wear anything but long nightgowns at night
Oh this would be a great nightgown! I had not thought of that before. What a great idea!
That dress is gorgeous. I LOVE the room and the trees!
Thank you!! I cannot wait to make more of them! I remember when I came home with those trees, my husband was super confused. LOL
I love the look on your littles face! She’s gorgeous.
Awe! Thank you so much!!
I love the design of the dress, the color choice and the print of the material for this designed dress. Although the dress looks great without the sash adding on the sash gave it a dressed up look. I also have to agree with you that the color peach is sadly not given it’s well deserved fame, for a lack of a better word. I love the color peach and find it hard to find coordinating prints to match up the way I would want them to.
Thank you so much! It is sometimes hard to match up peach colors, especially on computer screens!
Love this dress!
Thank you!
I love this on her! Perfect colors!
Thank you!
Awwwwe, she’s such a doll, and looks so cute in her little dress.
Thank you so much Bonnie!
Everything about that room is adorable, but your Little Girl in her dress makes the room pale in comparison. She looks delighted for her dress!
Thank you so much. You are so sweet!
I really like this maxi, fabric and is incredible with the flowers on picture 4. Wow!
Thank you! I loved how well the sash looked with the dress
The floral is perfect for this dress!! Is the sleeve/flounce hemmed? (I despise hemming knits, lol!)
Thank you! I did not hem the sleeve nor the bottom of the dress 😉
Beautiful girl! Beautiful fabric! Now I need the pattern!
Thank you so much! Yes you do and it is on sale right now for 35% off too!
These fabrics are just perfect for her. Sweet dress for a sweet girl.
Thank you so much Chris!
That is adorable!
I love the fabric you used and the dresser looks amazing! Great job on everything!
GORGEOUS
Wow I love the dress, and the room!!!!! For sure need this pattern for my little miss.
I just love the colour of that fabric 💕
This fabric is gorgeous for this pattern. I also love how you added the special touch with the sash! Great make!
This gives me the inspiration to go make my daughters their dresses
Love it with the sash, such a fun edition!
I love all of this! The fabric, the dress and how you managed to “bring the spring inside!” So adorable.
She’s so cute! Love the dress
Love this!! I think I will have to get this pattern for my little!!
Such a sweet dress for an adorable girl! I want it in my size too!
Love it! Your daughter is a lovely model ❤️
Gorgeous! That would be perfect for an Easter dress, especially with the flower sash.
Your little girl looks so grown up in this! Such a beautiful dress. Wish I could make one for myself. 😉
This is incredibly adorable. I love your fabric selection for this dress!
Love, love, love the dress – but I adore the room. I’m not a big pink girl, but cherry blossoms are my all time favorite! Husband’s can be confused, I approve! Haha
Beautiful dress
I love her new dress, especially the flounce sleeves! Plus anytime you add a Gilmore Girls reference in your posts, I know it will be a good one! 😆
Such a beautiful dress and I love how you can see she likes it a lot.
I’ve actually never worn a maxi dress in my entire 26 years – I think I need to change that!
An amazing beautiful dress for a supercute girl and you just used the perfect fabric! Really a dream!
how beautiful! i love the fabric choice!!
Thank you so much! I saved some fabric for me too 🙂
