When I first saw the Girls Be Outstanding Romper, I thought it was adorable. You can grab it here for only $1 today for Wacky Wednesday. Plus, see all the $1 Wacky Wednesday sewing patterns here! I love romper patterns and the I LOVE sweetheart necklines.
The Sweetheart neckline gives the Be Outstanding Romper sewing pattern as sweet extra touch. In the listing photos on the Ellie and Mac website, I was not digging how the straps fell down in front. I did not want anything covering that gorgeous sweetheart neckline! So, I pulled the straps through from the top and tied them in the back. This option worked really well.
The Girls Be Outstanding Romper sewing pattern has several options too. Regular bodice, sweetheart neckline, pants, shorts, ruffles, flared are all options including in the sewing pattern. I chose the sweetheart neckline with ruffled pants options. The shorts will be my next try.
In the middle of the night is when I had sewn the romper together. It was the only quiet time I had available. If you noticed Baby Girl looking a little under the weather, you would be correct. She is fighting allergies, I believe. I was so excited to try the romper on her this morning. Then… I noticed something….
Did you catch it? Leave me a comment below if you saw the mistake I made. That is what I get for sewing in the middle of the night. Baby Girl was not happy when I told her it was time to change into some clothes for school. She said, “No, me like this. Me wear it.” I told her I needed to fix it first before she could wear her new romper. So, let’s see if I can write this blog post and fix my mistake before she gets out of school. By school, I mean mini preschool. It is only 2 hours once a week and with drive time, I get about an hour and half of work time or sometimes gym time, if I am caught up with work. Wish me luck!
Go hurry and grab the Girls Be Outstanding Romper sewing pattern here for only $1 and check out the other 5 sewing patterns for only $1 as well here!
By the way, I have a huge announcement coming on my blog on Friday, so stay tuned for the good news, exclusive discounts codes and giveaway!!

Love this color combo and did you forget to add the second ruffle on one of the ankle cuffs !? Lol you can’t tell if not looking for anything !
Thank you! I have had this fabric since last summer! The second ruffle is actually there, is just underneath the bigger ruffle. Oops!
The left leg has one ruffle.
Technically the other one has two, I just stitched them on in the wrong order. LOL!!
I giggled when I saw the one ruffle. (That is something I would do) But, I laughed out loud when I read that the other ruffle was on the inside. Thank you for the laugh. I love the romper!
Thanks Barbara! I cannot believe I did that. I think I can fix it though. You are are welcome for the laugh. 🙂
Love that fabric I need some
Thank you!! I bought the fabric last summer, I believe it is from Walmart.
I see the ruffle issue but it could be a design element and the start of a new trend.
Lol Carolyn! I love it! It is kind of like how people used to wear one pant leg up on their calf. ha ha!
This is so cute! The asymmetry could be considered a design element 😂
Thanks Elizabeth! LOL! That would be hilarious!
The second ruffle is missing from one leg.
The second ruffle is technically there, it is just underneath the bigger one. oops!
Lol you don’t notice it if your not looking for it. You know though.
I do know though. I did not see it until I put it on her though. She did not care, she wanted to wear it anyways.
Haha, everyone makes those kinds of mistakes when sewing, and if you don’t, you’re not being honest. 😉
That is true!! I just have to laugh at myself when I make mistakes.
Haha, man, it’s hard to keep track of all those layers some times. Mental gymnastics that I’m not always nimble brained enough for. 😉
Lol! Especially in the middle of the night!!
Missing ruffle on the left leg, but overall so adorable!!!!!
so cute!! looks like its missing a ruffle on one leg but i didn’t notice at first. love it!
The ruffle will be an easy fix. She’s super adorable!
such a cute pattern! thanks for sharing yours – along with the hidden ruffle; kids don’t mind those details anyway! it still looks SO cute! off to get me that $1 pattern now!
Sew cute!!!!! I can’t wait to try this out!
I love this romper. If only I had girls to sew for 🙂
Such a cute piece! I think the leg ruffle is a fashion statement!
The right leg on the romper I can’t see the top ruffle. I see that you did see Iitvon, but the ruffle is under the big ruffle. Still, a cute outfit on a cutie!
See litvon should say sew it on
So cute. Awesome tutorial
Ruffle is sewn on wrong on the one leg. I sewed a waist band on with the seam on the outside. I just topstitched it down. It looked neat.
I bought the pattern and will be sewing it this week end.
My daughter loves the Be Outstanding! She has the pants version and has already told me that it’s time for some new ones with shorts! She’s my toughest customer…I love your fabric!!
Oh so cute!!!
Love this romper!
