Hi again!! It is my stop on the DIY Halloween Costume Blog Tour! This time I am bringing you another Princess Ballerina Leotard and leg warmers. You may remember my Princess Rapunzel Ballerina Leotard I made from some Its Sew Creative fabric. As the blog tour goes along, I will also be updating my Best Halloween Sewing Patterns Blog Post Round Up. I am continuously updating the list new sewing patterns and more pictures!! Go check it out here!

This time I used some Yellow Princess Cotton Lycra Fabric from Joann Fabric. You may find it here. I love that Joann is starting to carry more Cotton Lycra. Baby Girl really loves this fabric as it has her favorite princess on it, Princess Aurora. She likes Princess Aurora, because, you guessed it, she wears pink! Also, when we went to Disney this last summer, Princess Aurora went above and beyond for Baby Girl. She gave her a magical experience. I speak more to that experience, once I make her actual Halloween Costume. I am making her a Princess Aurora dress with the new Once Upon a Pattern by Sew a Little Seam. I excited to try it, I better get on that…
Well, I tried to take pictures of Baby Girl in her Ballerina Leotard with our usual backdrop of her adorable pink sofa, however as you can see above, she was not really feeling it. Since we take pictures often, sometimes cooperation can be difficult at times. Sometimes we have to bring in a little bribery too. This time, I just let her have fun and hoped I was able to take a decent shot.
Baby Girl decided she wanted to climb on her new Princess Bed. A Princess bed fit for our little princess. I used the Ocotillo Ballerina Sewing Pattern again. You may find it here. Well technically I made this one before the Princess Rapunzel Ballerina Leotard. I love all the options! I plan to make plenty more. I did not add any lining to this one either, as she is still in diapers. However, Baby Girl decided she wanted to potty train this weekend, so I will start lining her leotards, as we may be saying Bye Bye to her pull-ups.
I have two very different children, one is very cautious and the other one not so much… Any guesses on which category Baby Girl falls under? She literally just walked up to my computer, saw the picture above and asked if she could go jump on her Princess Bed… Then, she decided she wants to decorate for a tea party first and I need to wait to come to her room. If she goes on the potty all this week, then her prize will be this Fancy Nancy tea set. Maybe she will even wear her Fancy Nancy dress I made her. I am sure it will make for a great prop for photos as well.
Sometimes props are unplanned like, her new princess bed. Of course, she was jumping for joy in her new ballerina leotard. I used Casa Collection Mesh Fabric 60″ – Solid – Pastel Yellow for the skirt. I think it looks adorable. Baby Girl thinks it is a little rough, so next time, I may try more a chiffon. Though, as you can see, after the initial introduction of the outfit she was completely fine.
I mean, does she not look like she is having the worst time ever? LOL! This girl is pure joy. She loves to have fun and she loves for others to share in all the happiness.
Now we cannot go without mentioning the leg warmers!
I used the same Abby’s Trailblazing Sock Sewing Pattern with a leg warmers option, as I did her Rapunzel leg warmers. You may find the sewing pattern here. Baby Girl is going to end up with a million of these. 😉 My first sewing project was taking Women’s socks and making Baby and Toddler leg warmers. You can see examples in my own Etsy shop here or read my tutorial here. I have another fun outfit coming up soon and I think I am actually going to try the sock version next time.
Believe me! The Abby’s Trailblazing Socks Sewing Pattern by the Wolf and Tree is one must have sewing pattern for any little girl; especially the little girl above. They are great scrap buster too! I like to use as much fabric as possible. In fact, I already have a bow for her to wear with this outfit cut out; I just need to sew it.
Now before we say adieu!

I think my boy actually appreciates it more than my little girl. 😉
