Well I did it! I have finally sewn something for husband!! Yes, it is my first time I have ever something for my husband. It has been in the planning process for quite a while, however it took this Men and Boys Sewing Patterns Blog Tour featuring Toby K. There have been a few reasons I have not sewn something for my husband yet. Number 1 reason has been time. Other reasons being, I am not sure if we actually appreciate home sewn clothing and well, I did not want to share my fabric. LOL!
Well, I guess I am going to have to start stocking up on fabric for my husband, because look how adorable these two are together in their matching shirts! They even stood still for a quick few shots. Unfortunately, it was too cold to grab some nice shots outside, so we grabbed a few quick ones before Daddy had to rush off to work.
The Berlin Tee Sewing Pattern by Toby K. Patterns (here) was the perfect first sewing project to make my husband. The sewing pattern is well drafted. The sleeves are not cut on the fold and the shirt fits to a T. The neckband also went on really easily without a bunch of bunching. Little Dude’s neckline does have some bunching, however I feel that was probably a mistake made by me, as I was working on his shirt at one in the morning. I will have to just make him another one to be sure.
In fact, the Berlin Tee Sewing Pattern is packed with options! Short sleeve, long sleeve, crew neck, v neck, hoodie, straight hem, angled him, zipper placket…. My husband has already requested a hoodie!
I have been hoarding this gorgeous lightweight blue sweater knit fabric for awhile now. The fabric was in a sweater knit box from Sincerely Rylee. It was the blueberry themed sweater knit box; I had purposely bought to make my husband and son matching shirt. As much as it pains me to share this gorgeous and not make something for myself, I am so happy with the results. Sincerely Rylee does themed boxes, a lot of wonderful sweater knits, just about every Friday night! You can check them out here.
Little Dude has some slight sensory issues and is very particular in his clothing and sweaters are usually a hard no. (I think he gets that from me.) However, he absolutely loved this soft sweater knit fabric. Actually, the first thing he said when he put it on was, “It is so warm!” That is a win for this Mama. Little Dude is actually the person who loves it the most when I make him clothes, as he knows there will be not tags and the fabrics will be soft.
Of course, with my two boys, the standing still for pictures quickly ended. They decided to do some action shots instead. LOL! I will save those photos for later.
Well, there was this one I had to share. Are they not just adorable in their matching shirts?? The Men and Boys Berlin Tee Sewing Pattern will definitely become a staple in our house! Do not forget to grab it here. Little Dude wore his to school that day and the hubby wore his to work that day. I just love them to bunches!

Adorable pics!! I also thought my husband wouldn’t appreciate the handmade clothing, but I was pleasantly surprised. I always hold my breath with neckbands 😬
